Top Site List Planet provides over 275 different styles to "skin" your list and optional forum.
These styles are provided so that administrators can customize the look and feel of their pages without needing to worry about HTML coding, etc. (Styles are primarily for lists using Portal Mode, but even Custom HTML mode lists are affected in minor ways by the selected style, click here for more details.)
Each new list contains 3 installed styles: default, subSilver and Aeolus, but you can easily activate more styles to use.
Quick Guide:
Use Styles Admin -> Add to make styles available for use.
Use Styles Admin -> Management to preview styles
Use General Admin -> General Config to change current style under the general setting "Default Style".
(We will probably be moving this last option to Portal Config, for simplicity at a later time.)
Style Preview
To make your search for the perfect style a little bit easier, we've provided a style preview capability.
Our unique style preview function allows you to see styles applied to your own site so you can see exactly how it will look and how your custom logo will integrate, if you have one.
To use this feature, go to your admin panel. First, install some new styles that you would like to preview under Styles Admin -> Add. Then from the Styles Admin -> Management page you can use the Style Preview link to quickly check the style applied to your board.
The advantages of our preview system are:
- You can preview styles privately without having to apply them to your board's public appearance.
- The style is previewed on your own list.
- You can see how your custom logo will integrate.
- It's quicker than having to apply a style thru the admin Configuration page.
Applying a new Style
To apply a new style to your pages, please follow the following steps:
- Login to your admin area of your list.
- Make new styles available for selection by going to Styles Admin -> Add. Select Install for any styles you'd like to try.
- Change the current style by going to General Admin -> General Configuration, then under General Board Settings look for the setting called Default Style and change as desired. Save the changes.
Style Consistency
To ensure that all your members get one consistent style, set the Override user style setting in General Board Settings to yes.
If you do not Override user style, any styles that you have Installed will be available for your registered members to select from.
We recommend enforcing a single consistent style. |
