Pop Up Problems

I am getting pop-ups on both of my topsite lists...one that I created a few months ago, and a new one that is not yet finished.

Since the TOS said that no pop-ups would be added to our topsites, can anyone help with this?

You are right, I'd forgotten about that commitment I wrote 3 years ago.

I've been trying some popunders recently though as the growth of Top Site List Planet has been putting some strain on the server and some additional funds are needed to assist with the costs of an expected upgrade to make sure the service continues to run delay and cost free for our users. Pops aren't my favorite either, but they are capped at 1 view per 24 hours which isn't too bad, and if you have a popup blocker you never have to see one.

Perhaps eventually we can provide a way for admins to opt-out pops or subscribe for advertisement-free. There hasn't been much demand for this so far, but I'm open to feedback as always.

Thanks for letting me know. I do have a pop-up blocker, but I have it set to play a sound when it blocks a pop-up, just so I'll know I'm on a site (even if it's mine) that is causing pop-ups. So I hear the sound when the pops try to open. I know, I could just turn it off, but I like to know when site's are causing pop-ups. Honestly, I would gladly pay to prevent them/opt-out or what-have-you on my list sites. I'm sure if I'm in the minority on that, it's not as likely to become an option. But if it ever does, I'll be all over it. Thanks very much.

I will keep that in mind, we may also experiment with some non-pop alternatives in near future as well.
