I've got most of the list set up except for a couple things I can't quite figure out. My URL is http://babyz.top-site-list.com/

How often does the list update on it's own? And I have a suggestion... Could you add a link we could click to automatically update the vote count on our lists? (For when we've removed alot of inactive sites, or things like that.)

I uploaded a new list logo, but it isn't showing up anywhere. I also tried typing in the 'none' to remove it and then re-uploading it, but it still isn't showing. And when I first uploaded it, it removed the logo that came with the layout theme I'm using, 'Diddle'. So now there isn't a logo at all at the top the list. Laughing Suggestions?

Thanks for all your help Mark! I sure do appreciate it! Very Happy

Hi,

Hope this helps...

>> How often does the list update on it's own?

The votes and hits in the main list are updated instantly, so the values are always up-to-date. The vote and hit totals in the Statistics section are updated every few days, but my plan is to make those be updated at least once an hour.

>> Could you add a link we could click to automatically update the vote count on our lists?

When I get things setup like I want there won't be a need for this.

>> So now there isn't a logo at all at the top the list. Laughing Suggestions?

I'm seeing this image that says "Babyz Top 50" with a baby girl.

Hi Mark,

I still seem to be having a problem. Confused I still can't view the picture at the top. I've tried refreshing the page. I even emptied out my webpage cache. And the Mischief Gang site still isn't showing any votes, nor is the link for the site showing up. It's still as if it's in the restricted member phase. Embarassed

If you can view it, it's almost seems like the page refuses to refresh for me. Sad Any suggestions? Laughing

Jesslan

Edit 6-11: Here is what else I've tried... removing the graphic and re-uploading it via the 'Admin Panel/Install Custom Logo' section. I tried using Firefox instead of Outlook Express. I also uploaded the banner for MG Inc and that isn't showing for me either. However, I was able to successfully upload and view the 3 voting graphics. LOL I don't know if this helps in anyway, but where it says 'Current Logo' and is supposed to show the logo it doesn't. And the same goes for the banner. But where it says 'Current Voting Image 1', etc. The voting graphics do show for me. I also tried converting both the files to jpg, instead of gif and that didn't make a difference for me.

I am completely lost and don't know what else to try. I'm begging for any new suggestions you might have! Wink

On the voting topic, I went to your website and clicked on the voting link, so you've got 1 vote now. Everything looks fine there.

On the rest of your issues, I'm perplexed.

I can see all the images just fine. I tried logging in to your admin panel and the images all look okay from there too. Since you've tried two types of images and two browers it's really confusing as to why you wouldn't be able to see the images. The only other thing I can think of right now would be for you to force an image cache refresh by using Alt-F5 or Alt-Refresh in FireFox, but from what you've already tried this doesn't seem hopeful.

Tell me this, can you see your logo in my first reply? I can, and if you can too, then it ought to work on your site...

Hi Mark!

I see the 1 vote and 3 hits, now. My avatar shows okay, but I can't see the graphic in your first post, and I still can't see it on the site. I also still can't see the banner for MG Inc. To let you know what I'm seeing I'm posting a screen shot of it.

I tried resetting all of my browser settings to the default ones, hoping I'd just accidently changed something that was working before and it didn't work. I tried your suggestion of the Alt-Refresh in Firefox and that didn't work either. Sad I've tried everything I could think of, Mark. Even a few new ideas I came up with last night and still nothing has worked. Sad The *really* weird thing is I'm not having any problem at all viewing graphics on any other site I've visited. LOL Go figure on that one. LOL

My last thought is this... that for some reason my browser is being told not to allow viewing of graphics from whatever domain the graphics are on. However I think that most likely that domain is the same one that the 'Diddle' graphics are on and I can view all of those, save the BT50 one. Only you would know that. Wink Could you possibly add in the option of remote linking a site banner on the list? And a remote link for a top site list title graphic? It might solve my problem.

Thank you so much for all your help Mark!! I can't tell you how much I appreciate it all the time you've spent trying to help me! Very Happy

Perplexing.

I've created a brand new custom logo for you, just to see if that makes any difference. It's a different size and it's a jpg, so please take a look at your list with both browsers and refreshes, if necessary. Let me know if you see a logo now?

I feel so horrible having to say this... I still don't see it. I tried both Firefox and MSIE and refreshed in both a couple times. Embarassed

Edit: One friend said she could see the graphics and sent me a screenshot of it and they showed up the way I hoped they were going to. But, another friend said she can't see the graphic at the top, nor the MG Inc banner and sent me a screenshot of exactly what I'm seeing. I'm not sure what it means when some people can and some can't.

Okay, I'm going to see if we can get some more observations to help us figure this out.

This is what I'm seeing right now...

Hi
I works for me also. Just a thought, could it have something to do a anti virus program or firewall.

I have dial-up. I'll try turning off my virus scanner right now. We'll see if that does it... Okay, now they're showing! It must have something to do with my anti-virus. It's just Norton Internet Security 2004. I'll try to fiddle with the settings and see if that helps. I can't leave the scanner off all the time, so I'll have to figure out if there's anything I can do. Thanks so much for your help!

Ah-ha, darn old Norton.

I've known that Norton can cause trouble, but this doesn't seem like a situation where it should be doing anything.

Perhaps there are some settings within Norton that you can tweak that will allow you to keep the security, but not get innocent images blocked...

Thanks John, and everyone for looking.

That's the first time I've ever had a problem with Norton interfering with website viewing, but I had heard of it happening to others. It just never occurred to me because it had never happened to me before. LOL I haven't been able to change my settings to something yet that allows me to see them, yet also keep the virus protection on. I'll keep working on it. Smile

Thank you both, John & Roach, for your help!! I'm relieved to finally know what my problem is! Smile

And thank you so much Mark, for all your help and the time you spent trying to help me figure out what was wrong! I would've given up on me a while ago, but you kept plugging on to help me! Thank you ever so much!!! Very Happy
