We have a list here ...
http://funnydonations.top-site-list.com

But, two people signed up, one with firefox and one with IE.
And they still both got strange code after registering.

I will post the error code below.

And also, a friend or two voted for them from their site, but the vote won't count. We deleted them from the site to resign up.
But still the error code, and even with the new vote code they still get no votes.

Hope you can help. We love Top Site List !!!

NOTE: The error didn't happen with the first site.
But it does happen with all new sites.

Hi, thanks for the information about this issue.

I took a look at the voting log and the only reason that any votes were not being counted, is because an IP had already sent a vote within last 24 hours, so that is by design, not an issue.

Now, with respect to your registration bug, I wasn't able to reproduce this. Could you please try it again with a test user and tell me if the problem still occurs?

If so, please send me all the registration fields entered, so I can try to duplicate. Thanks.

No, because I can go on friends computers with other IPs and vote for Daves Flash or Wendys House ... and the vote won't count.

And then vote for the MYSPACE banner and the vote does count.

Yeah, we did the MYSPACE banner late last night and it worked OK.

Maybe I could delete Daves and Wendys and get them to sign up again.

UPDATE EDIT : We just deleted Daves and Wendys membership.
Then we logged out, logged off the internet, connected to the internet, cleared cookies, and signed up Dave with a new log-in name..... and it got the error again !!! (the MySpace banner sign-up worked OK last night, but Dave and Wendys sign-up get that error.

It can't be because the URLs are too long because or have too many underscores is it ?

i.e.
This works fine in the sign-up .........

But this does not work in the sign-up .........

One other thing. The "Default" list theme got too wide after setting it up. (Bigger then 1024 X 768)
Maybe because our Title was too long.
Anyway we were never able to correct it, even by removing everything.

So we decided to add a new theme. The dark blue one we have now.


Sorry to bring these issues up. We know how excellent your Top Site Lists are. And this sort of thing must be rare.

We are going to sign-up Wendy again,
but link to another (friendlier) URL.

UPDATE EDIT : ........

1. We deleted dave's banner membership and wendys.

2. We signed up a new wendy with a new short URL.
and a new password, and a new login name.
But still the error code.

And when we get the error code, and after activating the account, the vote link won't give a vote on any IP address on any friends different IP company internet computers.

What I'm going to do now is sign-up wendy on another top site somewhere, like cool top sites or something.

And if that works OK, then I will delete our whole top site.
Because my sister has a top site and this problem never happened.

Then we will start again.
With a whole new one.

ANOTHER UPDATE EDIT :

We just signed up wendy on this site .....

I've been able to reproduce the error that you are seeing, the good news is that this error should not be causing any functional impacts. It seems to be cosmetic in nature.

The code 111 means a valid vote, and the code 511 is showing that the vote is being blocked because the IP exists in the voting list.

Everything seems to check out from what I can see.

Keep in mind that only 1 vote per IP per list per any 24 hour period is accepted.
